About Us
Cravens & Lewis Jewelers is a family owned and operated jewelry store that was started by Owen Cravens and Eddie Greenup in 1950. This family business has had three homes, the Old Lancaster Hotel on West Main Street, South Broadway, and moved to our current location at 136 East Main Street in 1960. Owen Cravens became the sole owner in 1961 and operated the business until his death in 1970. Owen’s daughter, Jean and her husband John Lewis continued with the business and added the Lewis name in 1981. In 1987 we did a little remodeling and knocked down some walls to double our showroom space.

When Owen and Eddie started the business it was primarily a watch repair shop. Jewelry has become the major part of the business with only the simple watch repair still being done in house. The store features a large showroom that displays the latest in quality gold, silver, diamonds and gemstone jewelry. Giftware lines of crystal, Cherished Teddies, Precious Moments, Seth Thomas clocks, horse figurines, other figurines, baby gifts and jewelry.

We are a family run business in every sense of the word. Besides John and Jean their daughter Shari Lewis, Jean’s sister Charlotte Ison, and their niece Kara Glass all work in the store. The only non-family member of our staff is Joe Abner, our jeweler. Come in and we’ll treat you better than family.
